A fantastic wine and art tour in centre-north of Italy, in the great land of Romagna, where Sangiovese and Albana wines are a very good match with local food. A new offer of The Wine Traveller Club

D1: FAENZA – ORIOLO – FAENZA

Arrival in Faenza and accommodation at hotel. After a welcome lunch served in one of the typical restaurant visit will start with a guided tour of this little town, in particular of its International Museum of Ceramics. In the afternoon departure to Oriolo ai Fichi village where in the several cellars of the area it is produced an excellent Centesimino wine, also called Red Sauvignon. Of course we will stop in a couple of cellars for tasting of wines and typical products, ending with dinner. Return to Faenza and overnight.

D2: FAENZA – DOZZA – FAENZA

Breakfast at hotel and departure to the medieval village of Dozza, famous of its Biennial Exhibition of Painted wall taking place in Dozza this year 2011 from 14 to 18 of September. In its Sforza Fortress, now headquarter of the Regional Enoteca of Emilia Romagna region, it will be possible to visit and taste more than 800 wines and have Lunch by the restaurant La Scuderia. Afternoon at leisure.

D3: FAENZA – FORLIMPOPOLI – BERTINORO – FAENZA

Breakfast at hotel. Today’s excursion will take us to Forlimpopoli, birth town of the gastronomist Pellegrino Artusi. Visit to Artusi’s house, a space made from a former servants convent, divided into the several expressions of gastronomic culture: library, restaurant, cooking school, cellar, museum, events and much more. There is also the chance to follow a short cooking course. Lunch at Casa Artusi’s restaurant. In the afternoon conclusion of the visit of Forlimpopoli and transfer to Bertinoro, the symbol village of Albana wine. After the visit of this small centre and a cellar with wine tasting, stop for dinner which will be served at Restaurant BELVEDERE. Return to hotel and overnight.
