Wine tourism in German among vineyards and castles
Friday, 10 February 2012

This year the German National Tourist Board promotes wine tourism in Germany. In collaboration with the German Wine Institute (DWI), the local wine and wine tourism and natural heritage related to wine is the theme proposed internationally. In Germany there are 13 wine regions (Ahr, Baden, Franconia, Hessian Bergstrasse, Middle Rhine, Mosel, Nahe, Pfalz, Rheingau, Rheinhessen, Saale-Unstrut, Saxony and Wurttemberg), which organizes more than a thousand wine festivals. For active and sports holidays there are also routes suitable for walking and cycling between different scenarios: for example, cycling between landscapes shaped by a tradition of winemaking, vineyards along the Musella river and, also, from Wiesbaden to Bonn including historic castles, mountains and vineyards. In these areas there is the possibility of practicing canoeing. Info www.weinkulturkalender.de
