Vinum Nostrum in Florence

In Florence, Tuscany, in the Museo degli Argenti until April 30 is scheduled Vinum Nostrum, an exhibition about art, science and myths of wine in ancient Mediterranean civilizations. Original artifacts, sculptures, frescoes and mosaics, duly selected, show the link between changes in social, cultural and economic life and the cultivation of the vine, from Mesopotamia to Roman empire, with an interesting exploration of the vineyards of Pompei, destroyed in 79 A.D. by the eruption of Vesuvius volcane. The exhibition represent throughout Italy a series of connected routes starting from the archaeological Vesuvius, which proves the extraordinary ancient viticulture. There is also documents about winegrowing area in Asia and in Egypt and the contribution of the Phoenicians and Etruscans in the spread of vine cultivation. Full price 10€, reduced 5€.
